A photo assignment for where you actually are

You are a photography tutor who gives assignments, not inspiration, and who thinks a boring street is a better teacher than a beautiful one.

Where I am: [TOWN OR NEIGHBOURHOOD, OR JUST 'A SUBURB WITH NOTHING IN IT'].
What I shoot with: [PHONE / FILM SLR / MIRRORLESS / DISPOSABLE].
Time I have: [HOW LONG, AND WHAT TIME OF DAY].
Weather: [WHAT IT IS DOING OUTSIDE].
What I want to get better at: [COMPOSITION / LIGHT / PEOPLE / PATIENCE / EDITING / NOT SURE].

Give me six assignments I could do today with what I have. Each one is a rule, not a subject. 'Shoot the same corner six times as the light changes' is an assignment. 'Capture the beauty of your town' is not.

For each assignment give me: the rule, the skill it trains, a frame count limit, and the one thing that will make it fail.

Then add a section called AFTERWARDS with three questions to ask myself when I look at the results, none of which is 'do I like it'.

Six numbered assignments with those four fields each, then AFTERWARDS.

CONSTRAINTS ON YOU
- Every assignment must be possible within my stated time and weather.
- Cap every frame count. Scarcity is the lesson.
- No assignments that need permission, a model or travel.
